Pain looked up at Avignon. "I will take her with me. Teach her how to use her powers and let her grow. She will be in our group, but not truly one of us until she makes the decission."

"I'm not leaving her side..." she said, shaking slightly. Where was Avris? Why was he gone? He'd never left like this before. She'd never felt so.... Alone.

Pain turned away from the twins and grinned. He was getting what he wanted. He sighed and turned back to them. "So does mean that will come with us?"

"Don't get cocky..." she said, her face lowered, and her fist clenched in rage. She didn't like this at all. And where the hell was Avris?!?

Pain held up his hands. "Oh, I wouldn't dream of it." He grinned, "Where is Avris, he seems to have retreated from our conversation."

"Why? Wanna propose to him?" Avignon was happy with neither of the men before (or not so) her at this point, or how they'd been so chummie...

"I have someone that I'm after, sorry to disapoint." Pain grinned and cracked his knuckles.

Avignon smirked at Pain's expence. Pain, love? She didn't think it was possible. Then again, a man like Pain's definition of love.... well, she didn't want to find out what it was. She had more important things to worry about, like WHERE THE HELL WAS AVRIS?!?

"It seems that your brother has grown bored with our conversation." Pain grinned.

Avignon huffed angerly. "Do you have anything important to say?" she demanded.

Pain grinned his fangs glinting. "You are a fiesty one." He glanced over his shoulder as one of the bolder vampires reappeared. "Take the girl, make sure she is safe." He turned his gaze back to Avignon. "That is unless you have any objection."

"Not at the moment, no. But I ll be sure to alert you the exact moment I think of something," she told him, sneering. One of the vampires tried to lead her away by the arm, and she roughly pushed him off. "Oh, and if one of these deadheads touches me, I'm not liable for any dammages I'll cause..."

Pain nodded and glanced at the offending vampire. "Take Ivy, I will meet you on the island." The vampire nodded and disappeared with Ivy held in his arms. Returning his gaze to Avignon he grinned. "I cannot allow you to be led to our base by foot. I will take you." He proferred his arm. "Shall we go?"

She ignored the formal, human gesture. Her eyes told her he was being polite, but her memory told her that he hurt Ivy. Pain didn't look like a monster, unlike most of the Kitrals.
She didn't look like a monster either. In fact, any miracle-believing christian would call her an angel, a gift from some forign, masculine entity, sent to bring the God's blessings, or condemnations.
...Angel. He wispered breathily in her mind's ear.
Like his voice, his presence was as intangible to her as the wind. She still wasn't sure if he really was there, or what he was thinking. She still felt so alone... but he could hear her thoughts, wherever he was. He was watching over her, from that distant place he had retreated to. He wasn't really gone. She had to believe that.
She looked at Pain, her gaze carrying no malice, or hatred. It was almost a... questioning gaze, something directed not at him, but beyond him, thought it encompased him.
Avris, is this right? she questioned, hopeing he would answer. She stood silently, waiting. No answer came.
She steeled herself, her wings tensing and streaching out in the crouded tunnel. Her white, angel wings. I can't turn back now. I won't turn back. That's not my way.
She remembered the sombre promise between them, many years ago. I won't hesitate. I won't look back.
Shimmering, white feathers fell to the ground, scattering about her. They seemed to give off light from their luminous sheen. She looked at one of the Kitrals, then to the feathers. It's the least... most I can do, now...
"Do you really think I walk anywhere?" she asked. "I make good use of these wings... except in these dreary tunnels." She added the last part before Pain, or anyone else could point it out for her.
She looked at Pain's still extended arm, and slowly accepted the old human invitation. To her great suprise, his skin wasn't slimey like the monster she saw him to be. Huh... "Well, what's your prefered method of travel?"

Pain waited patienly for Avignon to take his arm. He had all the time in the world and he didn't expect her to. When she finally took his arm he was slighlty suprised that she would even touch him. When she asked her question he grinned slightly. "My way is a bit quickly than flying." In an instant the two had disappeared without a trace that they had ever been there.
