Name: Malachi (pronounced Mal - as in malpractice - Leh Kye)
Alias: Previously refered to as "the Shadow"
Sex: Male
Hometown: Doesn't have one
Age: appears 18
Personality: Malachi is, by nature, a dark person. He's very philosophical, and could almost be deemed thoughtful. Well, that is, if you count all the thought he'll put in to making Tribe's life a living hell. His actions portray his confidence. He walks, talks, and acts as if he can not be harmed, or even stopped. And for most of the people that have tried, it's held to be deadly true. He's extreamly powerful, and tends to act as if he's higher than the people around him. He always seems to know more than he lets on. Malachi is a smooth talker, who likes taking controle of situations.
As if that wern't already enought to hate him, Malachi lacks in compassion, empathy, and many other basic human traits. In short, he's malice incarnate, and finds joy in bringing hardships on others. Tribe's pratical jokes are nothing compaired to Malachi's dark deeds, expecially those of his earlier days. Though this causes some discord in his "relationships" with his fellow Twilighters, they are not as burdened by his depravity at Tribe, who seems to be the focus of his "affections".
Ability: The incarnate form of shadows. His abilities are identical to Tribe's, though he is indefinatly more creative with his. He may also have some hidden "talents"
.
Affiliation: Twilighter, albeit at the strong discouragement of other Twilighters
Appearance-
Hair Color and style: Black as his dark little heart, but changes in style and length
Eye Color: Dark Grey, but darker and more solid than Tribe's, his pupils are diamond-shaped slits
Skin Color: Black, not brown like an African, but pure, midnight black
Style of Dress: also changes periodicaly, but dresses in black, usually ornate clothing
History: How Malachi came to be is a well guarded secret of his. He sees no reason to tell it to anyone.
But, his history with Tribe, on the other hand, is a frequent source of joy to him.
He first came across the shadow girl when she was losing control of her powers. He'd been tracking her, and watching her for a while, almost as long as she'd had her powers. He was angered by the fact that another shared his traits, and was set out to destroy her.
But the longer he watched her, the more he became facinated with her. She was human, but not human. She was things that both confused him and were familure to him, things that both infuriated him and excited him, things that both pushed him away and drew him close.
But it wasn't untill another came into the picture that he finally took action.
A boy had become close to his solitary shadow. Too close. Malachi was outraged that another was blocking his watchings. He could see her becoming more human, more like this pittiful little boy. He was furious, he was discusted, but most of all, he felt betrayed.
He let out his wrath upon the two in a feirce battle, but found he could not bring himself to seriously harm the girl. He was subdued by the girl, shocked by his own weakness. While attempting to get away from the girl, Tribe forced him into her own shadow, thinking she could keep control of him.
But this only presented new opportunities to Malachi.
Using his advantage to nearly fuse himself with the girl's own shadowy essence, he was able to regenerate his strength while still being so close to the girl. He was pleased to find out that his attacks, and the boy's own stupidity, had blinded the boy she had cared so much about. They were forced to seperate, much to Malachi's approval.
The girl became a wanderer again, alone again. Well, not so alone, for Malachi was always there, sometimes wispering words of strength and power in her ear when things grew too much for her to handel. Times were good for Malachi.
Then something ruined it.
The girl joined a band of renagades, armed with ideas of equality to the point of simplicity. They gave her a home, and humans began to surround her once again. An infuriated Malachi seethed in the darkness. Seathed, but did nothing.
Then another boy came. Another stupid human to block and corrupt. Malachi once again found himself forced into action out of fury. And Tribe became aware of his presence.
Need less to say, she was not pleased. Malachi, on the other hand, was thrilled by the girl's dillusions. She thought she could control him, that she could over power him. Oh, how he had loved those delisious feelings when she realized there was nothing she could do to stop him. But Malachi once again, did nothing to harm her. He was content to watching, and just being close, now with the added bonus of being able to have conversations with the girl.
But then, something happened that he did not expect. The girl had a breakdown. Something that had threatened her stability more than once. Inner voices of her own inner guilt and self-loathing tore at her sanity. Malachi was able to subdue the insanity by sending the girl into a slumber untill she had calmed. But this left him in control of the girl's body.
Taking advantage of the situation, he attempted to get some information from one of the Academy's leader's, Feuer. Unfortunatly, he was unable to resist his philosophical nature, and ended up revealing that he was not Tribe. When he realized that there was no hope of convincing Feuer that he was Tribe, he stopped holding onto the girl's form, and assumed his own. He managed to convince Feuer to let him stay at the Academy (as if Feuer had the power to stop him from doing what he wished) so he could hopefully cure Tribe's growing insanity.
Malachi is quite pleased with this arangement. He can be close to Tribe, and has high prospects of being able to have another "inlightening" conversation with some of the foolish Twilighters.
Misguided and dellusioned as they are, the Twilighters are quite ammusing...
