The calm, hypnotizing air filled the miniature bar with smooth jazz as the guests sat at the bar counter to chat plus drink their drinks and at tables surrounded by the reflective beams of light on the ceiling. Bej sat at the far east of the room, on the floor, near a corner with his hands relaxing supported by his crouched knees. He looked over toward the direction of the bartender, just in time to see the middle-aged man glance at him with a friendly smile, then turn back at his customers to serve them. Ever since Bej was about 5 years of age, he had the only person he would consider a guardian, and this person always let him stay inside the bar when night came to rest before the place would close. The man would offer a place to sleep at his house usually, but living off near the Redondo Beach in Los Angeles, the young feral child always refused, not wanting to leave his hometown. But watching the people staring at him in this bar every night made him doubt about it.

Rin walked into the bar, hunger knawing at her insides. It had been such a long time since she had fed. All because of this mission. Being a "mole" (as Pain so kindly put it) did have it's perks, like listening to the ever humerously ignorant Twilighter children. But it also had it's downfalls. She had been causious, so far. She couldn't allow herself to be caught drinking fresh blood, least the whole mission be jepordized. So she had abstained.
But the ever mounting hunger within her had not let her rest this night. She needed to feed. And now that she had found a where, all that was left was the who, and most importantly, how soon?
Rin seated herself down at the bar, quickly signaling to the bartender, a middle-aged, overly friendly man who smelled of spilled beer and sweat.
"I haven't seen you before. You new here?" the bartender asked as he set down some drinks for the people who sat on either side of Rin.
"I'll take whatever's cheap," Rin replied, not wanting to waste her time on such a disgusting man. She was here for prey, not for idle, human chatter.
The bartender shrugged lightly, he was, as always, slightly hurt by the girl's lack of manners, but he'd been in the business long enough to see more than his fair share of that, and worse.
Rin quickly scanned the night's croud, looking for anything out of place, or a Twilighter. After a second glance, she felt sure that there were no Twilighters in the club tonight. It would be safe to hunt here... but what a group! None of the humans in the club caught her fancy. There was no more fit prey to be found than a greasy, unshaven drunk.
"Here's your drink, miss," the bartender called her attention back, setting a glass of amber liquid, reeking of the smell of alcohol, beside her arm.
"Thank you," Rin said shortly, passing the bartender a five out of her pocket. "Don't bother me with change."
Rin didn't thank people often. In fact, she rarely made a habbit of being polite at all. Humans, as a rule, were discusting, vulgar, and malcontent. The were always screaming, uprising, rebelling, never caring to just do what they were told. They would rather break the rules than follow them. It was so vile, so... human. But there were the ones who just... did what they were supposed to. Like the bartender, who did not pry her with questions, or comment on her behavior, or any of the millions of other things that humans did. He just when about his way. And Rin felt that was worth thanking, even if his motives may not have been in the right place.
Rin looked around the room once again, ignoring the drink which she had only bought for show. None of these humans caught her eye, or appealed to her in any way. She would just as soon go hungry as she would take one of these fools.
There is no use in staying here if I can't find.... Her thoughts trailed off, unfinished, in her mind. Now this looks promising.
Across the room, back in the farthest corner, sat a boy, all by himself. Young, silent, and fresh, he seemed to taunt here as he stared down at his plate. She immediatly wanted him, to slice that umblemished skin and lap away the warm blood flowing out from underneath, to take his life in her arms, and steal it.
"Who are you...?" she mused out loud, almost silently, to herself.
True to her usual pattern of hunting, she moved away from the crouded bar, and sat down in an empty booth not far from the boy. Her untouched drink remained sitting on the bar top, soon to be taken by one of the filthy humans who she had sat near. She immediatly regreted leaving it. Now that she was seated at the booth, she had nothing to do, no cover-up to keep up this illusion of humanity.
But the boy so intranced her, that she was willing to throw caution to the wind just to keep her careful eye trained on him.
Why alone in a place like this? she wondered to herself. It's not like your kind to be alone.

Even though Bej had finished his plate minutes ago, he felt so nauseated with his feelings of his dreadful present life that he couldn't stop staring at the clean dish in his shivering hands. Even though it was night and pretty cold at this hour, he wore lengths of clothing that would keep someone like him warm but he wouldn't stop trembling. He couldn't help it- even though he seemed safe with his "guardian" near, he felt so frightened of normal, clumsy bums that shared the bar with him. No matter how hard he would try to calm down, he still felt as if being on this planet was a misake, in everyone else's mind. Eventually he manages to look around the bar to try to catch some staring eyes and make them feel guilt, but he noticed that no one was looking at him, only when he locked his eyes with their own passing ones. Then the person would look away, and he'd resume looking across the bar, until he noticed a lone woman. She had blonde hair, but as he wondered why she was alone in a bar at night, she took out a cell phone, talked on it for about 4 minutes, then stood up and walked outside to his amazement. Then when she disappeared, he kept on with his exploration, until he noticed another woman sitting alone. She had black hair, much shorter than the one he noticed from before, but then decided that no one was worth looking apon, for if she caught him looking her way, she would probably do the same thing as any other human from this town would do- be disgusted of the street hoodling. So he looked away from her and put his plate on the floor beside him, too afraid to cause attention by walking over to the bartender and handing the thing to him himself. Three minutes after doing this, he came to notice another woman entering the bar, an inch or 2 from his height, looking straight at him with a smirk.

It hadn't taken Rin long to notice the boy's trembeling hands, but it had taken her awhile to notice the boy's dirty garb.
Why, he's little more than a street urchin! she realized, though this did nothing to little his appeal to her. For her, it was mearly another needless fact in the thousands that surrounded the life of her prey.
The shaking, on the other hand, did worry her some. It was usually sign of a sick prey. She couldn't stand it if they were sick, it just seemed so...dirty. She immediatly averted her eyes. Human weakness was utterly unappealing, sickening even. She was sorely disapointed. The boy had seemed so...
She dared a last glance, to confirm his sickness. She consintrated on his being, the way he moved, how the heated air sounded as it left his lungs...
He doesn't seem sick. But why is he shaking so? she wondered to herself. ...Maybe it is not sickness that ails him. The boy had a shifty look in his eye. His heart beat heavily in his chest. He was scared. But of what?
Suddenly, Rin was aware of a presence behind her, another vampire. She didn't care, and had nearly forgotten about it. That is, untill the presence walked past her, and straight to her prey!

The woman then stopped in her tracks, still looking at Bej. He kept his eyes in contact with hers, wondering why she was still watching him. But then the tension disappeared as he watched her turn away from him and walk towards the bar counter. But still he wondered why she seemed so interested in him to stare so long. As he watched her actions interfering at the counter, the woman leaned against the counter to glance sideways at the bartender. She smiled as she asked, "Remember me?", feeding off of the fear he expressed after noticing who she was. "It's that time, old friend." The man tried to straighten up with an unstressful vibe as he asked, leaning towards her alittle to whisper, "Why so soon? I told you apart of this deal was to come by when not so many are around." The woman then rested her chin on her hand as her elbow supported her weight by pressing against the table, smiling, "Well, I can't help my hunger, sweety. It's your job to get these fools out of here anyways, am I right? Why is this place so busy tonight?" "It's..." he started, but noticed that she stood back up on her feet, then silently watched her put her hands to her hips as she turned around at the waist, scanning the room as if she was examining the people around her. But really, she wasn't paying attention to what she was looking at; it was just a posture to get the old man's mind wandering. Then she looked over at Bej again, as if it was her first time seeing him, and with a persona, gay smile, rushed towards the counter again to be infront of the man and in his face, declared, "I'll have the kid. If you worry so much about the customers here, try to close the place early or somethin', but I won't wait forever." She began to praise a sigh as she heard the gasp from the man and kept the expression as he defended, "Wait! Why- you never mentioned about taking the young! I mean, c'mon- he's got a bad life already, so please give him a break and pick someone else- anyone else! I've done so hard to bring him the way he is now, even though he denies it- but still, don't be letting my work go to waste! Pick anyone else, please-" but was cut off when the woman grabbed him by the collar. "I don't care about how your life has flourished, or how the kid's did or not, I just seem to go by the motto of picking the most adorable of the numbers, and out of all of these folks here, he caught my eye the first, so that's how it'll be. The cutest are always the best. If that's too much of a problem, then how about you exchange your life for his?" Bej was the first person ((besides mabey Rin if she's also watching))to notice the conversation was taking a wrong turn, for whatever the reason. "He's not very clean, so I think you won't like how he'd taste," he resumed defending as a little fib (the kid actually does stay very clean, even though his clothes are like rags) to hopefully get the woman to back off the adolescent, but when he realized it didn't work, added, "I'm like a father to him- so as one I will sacrifice myself if needed," wanting to betray the words he just stated. But the woman smiled again, laughing inside at the 'trying to be brave' act he was pulling, this time pretty crookedly. "Heh, sweety, that's not going to happen. I want him more than you."

Ooh, yes, Rin had heard every last sylable of that little conversation between the second hunter and the bartender. Rin hated this kind of woman, the kind who hid her real self behind cheap words and hollywood looks. Under other situations, Rin would have hated this woman. But given that the situation at hand involved this rogue hunter going after her prey, she was more inclined to unadulterated loathing.
Seething quietly from her seat, Rin's razor-sharp eyes watched as the hunter stalked over to her prey.

The woman turned her way from the man to head towards her precious target, but then the truthful protector as he'd call himself paced from the other side of the counter to be infront of her and Bej. He didn't want to give the kid up so easily. "I mean it, Laz, you need to pick some other person. Hell, infact, don't even come in here for your sick deeds- go somewhere else and leave my bar!", trying to be as brave as he could look. By now Bej knew something was going on. And he had the feeling it was about him. But he didn't move- he stayed at his spot. he wanted to know what was going to happen, but then again, hoped it wasn't something too crazy. Mabey she wants to adopt him? Is that why the 'father figure' he trusts is defending him? He knows that he's involved in the conversation, having the staring imprinted in his memory. But he's not the only one who was noticing the suspiscion of the two. The whole bar started to notice the commotion, making the relentless woman nervous. "If you won't make the crowd leave, then I will have to, baby." She then grabbed ahold of the bartender's shoulders just to toss him aside from her prey. Now Bej knows this woman might be after something more than a peaceful adoption, and feeling the fear building in his chest, actually tries to stand up to check on his buddy but before he could even push his legs up to stand, he was trapped; cornered by the woman named Laz. He stared into her submissive eyes as she calmly stared back, asking, "Shh...why do you fear a being like me?" then added, "There's nothing for you to be afraid of...", trailing off as she smiled, showing her teeth to him. Even though he couldn't believe it, he's suggestable to whether this woman is even a human or not, but for some reason.. felt so soothed when in contact with her purple-like eyes. Wait...can eyes even be purple? The customers have already risen from their seats from the shock of the bartender being thrown by a skinny woman. Most of them stood in shock, while others tempted to flee. Only one woman stayed seated in her seat, alittle shocked as the rest of the others near her.

"Stop." Her cold, angry voice swept across the room, not only stopping her target, but everyone else in the room. Time seemed to freeze, though it would be far from the fact. Time still ticked on, but noone was capable of moving with it. The were all paralized by her command, powerless to do anything but bend to her will.
Rin remained seated, her mouth closed, and her eyes on the hunter, her target, and the boy, her prey.

It was only a half moon out on this night. Not much of a good timing to do any summonings-Kononi liked to work his magic on the full moon, when it seemed suitable for the dead. Ever since his mistress died, he has been in search of any other problems people might be into, as promised to her everlasting soul. But surprisingly, so far, no signs of a crime- at night of all times! But he happened to enter around the corner of the misfortunate bar, noticing people running out of the bar, then automatically the numbers stopped- the exit was unstable. But he could sense more humans in the bar....and two infectees. Oh, finally a situation to handle, eh? But not to just enter properly- must find a way to sneak in on surprise- at least to one of them he stated, sensing one of the infectees' power was more of a high-class level than the other. He looked up, then leaped onto the roof silently to make his entrance.

Well, though that spell was a bit overkill, it did work. I should probably make my move soon, before...! Rin senced someone not hindered by her spellwork. Normally, she wouldn't have noticed the person. Her sences were not quite that accute when she wasn't consintrating. But the aura of her spell work still hung in the air, and he was disturbing it.
She consintrated on the presence, but gave no outward signal that she was doing so. She slowly drew in a breath, catching his scent. Infectee... she thought, bitter that another had disturbed her hunting. What is he planning on doing? I hope that fool of a vampire didn't draw the attention of a vampire hunter. In any case, my spell's still lingering, for the moment, and he stumbled into it. That should slow him down, at the least, giving me the upper hand.

Kononi looked around the roof and found a window at the far west of the structure. Peering through it stealthly, he noticed the woman who seemed in an odd position near a young boy. But he did witness the crowd inside utterly calm, but for a strange-looking cause. Why are they all scattered like this? The slim African sat to watch for any answers, spying on any sudden movements.

Rin wispered, "Release." quietly enough so the watcher couldn't hear. The people resumed their movements as if nothing had happened. She waited for the watcher to make his move.

Thanks to Rin's release pact, the woman Laz continued to persue Bej. In return, he cuddled for protection against the wall and watched as she placed her hands on his shoulders. "You're the perfect physique," she told herself outloud, admiring his beauty and youth. Even though she was working her vampiric spells on him, he did understand her flirts to him. And this did amaze him- for no one had ever talked about his looks being appealing. If it wasn't for her cosmetic trance over him, he would fear her for having a high interest in a boy about 4 years younger than her. Everyone else in the bar seemed to stare at the two, powerless and in empathy, except for one, who was looking stressed.
....I know what she's goin' to do... she's the lesser infectee- and a vampire, so i shouldn't have a problem with her. But who's the other one... Kononi used his totem sticks to break the glass, and jumped with a flip as his entrance. He landed hard and stumbled Laz and Bej first (noticable) then the others in the bar quickly picked up. Laz certainly knew that this man wasn't an ordinary spiritual combat. Using a lot of her energy, she commanded Bej to drift off into an all-nighter sleep and stood to face the intruder. "Trying to take my meal? Or save him?" was her welcome to him. He responded by putting one of his poles over a shoulder and smirked, "What'chu think?" then told the bartender (he could tell he was the one because of the suit he wore) to get all of the people out of the bar. The man took some time but then agreed with a nod, then asked one simple request, "Save the boy- I'll give you anything in return- I leave it to you." First, his eyes on the sleeping hostage, then on the suspect as she lunged at him in anger,"You're ruining my devised plan!!!" A customer was behind him so he picked her up dodging Laz's attack; to make sure the vicious woman wouldn't strike her instead. Trying with her over-sized-as-hard-as-steal nails to peirce him, she switched her position to his new location to strike again, this time with no one in danger by being near- so he waited for the right moment to counter attack. When it came, he moved to the right to put her in a choke hold with his sticks as an X binded at her neck. He was strong, 'and black', so naturally he would give her no easy escape. "I give you a chance to reconsider a forfit- leave and don't bother this child again," he offered into her ear as a mere whisper, noticing the struggle she put to try and break through his man-made prison hold. He then felt her tension level drop. Holding onto the sticks lightly, she responded, with a sort of growl and innocent tone, "Fine, I'll find another victim." It came about that she was...afraid of his masculinity.

Rin watched, without ammusement, as the people rushed out of the bar. The female vampire had somehow managed to make her prey pass out, but she didn't sence that he was harmed, nor dammaged in any way.
That man... She didn't like the way that he moved. He was... wrong. Against nature. And she wanted nothing to do with it. She watched his every move carefully, looking for weaknesses, blind spots, and anything else she could use to her advantage.
Not to her supprise at all, the stupid vampire fell to the man's attack. She watched as the woman slunk off into the darkness.
Now it's my turn, I suppose...
"My, my... what a show," she said softly, not moving from her spot in the booth. Her eyes watched the slow breathing of the boy.

Kononi knew that this woman was possibly lying to get a chance to get him off guard, but he decided to "play along" with it to make this more interesting for him. This woman's sense of power seems even worse up close than from what I felt before. He, for the moment, still holding the vampire in position, wondered as he scanned the room for a possible being looking somewhat different than most, for a possible vampire of the other aura he felt from way back then. He couldn't actually sense her or him possibly because that person may of blocked their scent off, but tried to discover a personality fitting for a vampire. But luckily... he noted that the people who stayed behind, or didn't move because of fear all seemed mostly the same> black-clothed and dark-appeareanced clans with different attitudes than most of the particular humans he studied around caucasian and latin cultures. About 5 people were still in the bar, for whatever their reason, but most looked surprised or scared. Kononi finally let the vampire loose, *after bonking her on the head with his totem poles as a punishment for being a 'criminal'- Kononi as one with his tribe gives off "warnings" to people who do or are about to do something unjustified* to back up and watch for her next move. He knew she wouldn't be an interesting one, but hoped that the other infectee was a vampire and her partner, and soon to be driven out, wanting a fight close to be worth to get into. But so far, no sign. The vampire woman didn't flich. Even though she still felt the pain on her forehead, she didn't want to conversate with him on why he abused her. She was too focused on finding a way to deminish her problem. Kononi expected her to at least turn to face him, but for almost a minute he waited patiently as he still stared at her back. She had her palms outstreched, her fingers spread as far as they could; and yes he did notice this, but waited for an explanation or sign of her attack. But luckily as soon as he saw her pose, he felt the presence of some psychotic activity behind him at the right of him. But he wanted to look as if he didn't know, and resumed staring at her as it seemed, but really analyzing what she was about to do. Then he felt the signal- the impact of the force she used in his repelling system. He knew then to dunk, then turning to look at the object she would use on him, noticing that they were just ordinary utensils of dining: a fork and 2 knives, floating as it passed him barely at his left cheek and straight to the unattentive, but distressed 30-year-old bartender, who was just trying to help out the victim of this phenomina. He didn't even have time to react as the objects impaled him for a quick and horrible death, with the fork piercing straight through his neck and the 2 knives through his heart- one after the other. A quick, nasty death, and the child who he believed to only understand didn't even move, not even his hair followed any impact with the wind the silverwear gave as it passed him due to their weak force in size. Now it seems that both infectees could be up to something, and if so, it's going according to plan Kononi worried, upset not to notice the real target, and falling for common possibilities in situations like this, as he looked over the lifeless corpse of a man who was murdered being caught in this for no reason justiciable. Then, like she strategized, the vampire hastly lauched another attack with her nails, this time getting his neck. The kill was only a diversion for an opportunity for her to get a moment of the perfect attack on him, and she planned he would fall for it too, too focused on the life the man should of had if he took caution in him aslo. Now the kid would be worse to desensitize, if he came to find out his caretaker wasn't there for him anymore.
But now wasn't the time to blame himself about it- that has to be later. He needed to determine any advances his opponent would try to use on him. All in all, getting striked was just play to get her excited, soon to wait for the perfect timing to ruin her pride and joy of what she thought was going on, even if it invovled pain.
