"Are you sure it's a part of me? I'm pretty sure I'm here and whole. Besides, I'm not even sure where these powers came from myself. I didn't have them back when I was in the Council. Frankly, I just don't care. I'll leave it for the new Pride to deal with. You'd probably end up dead that way, though..." Malachi frowned slightly. " D amn... I guess I can't die just yet. Ah well..."
"What do you mean, Pride? Are you talking about the Seven Deadly Sins?"
"Yes, Christina. I am Pride. The ones you saw last night," he continued, talking to Brandon. "Were Greed and Sloth, Genivive and Andonivan."

Are you sure it's a part of me? Malachi's questioned played in his head. He was pretty sure it was him... of not, how would he be blinded? He would have to investigate into this at a later date. "I can pretty much tell. I don't like that woman especially." He said to the Shadow. "But you seems to be very friendly with Andonivan..."

Malachi glared at Brandon for an instant before letting his head drop back down into the grass. He was begining to regain some of his posture, his legs were now crossed and he rested his head back onto his hands, fingers intertwined once again. The pose was so purely Malachi that it reasured the group a little. "I suppose you could say that.... I'm the closest to him out of all the Vices. He's the only one with half a brain!"

It seems he was beginning to brighten up. Good. He thought to himself as he looked at his posture. "What do you mean by he's the only one with haf a brain?" Looking back, he seemed to be more human than the other woman. Plus, he found him more... assuring. How did he know that again? No idea.

"He's sloth. He doesn't care for ANYTHING. Not the high principals of the Virtues and Vices, not in what I'm doing, not anything. In not being so tight with the rules and regulations of our little club, he was appealing to my personality as it grew. I can't just say 'we were friends', because we wern't. We're not human. We don't think like humans. Our connections arn't human. Back before things got so bad, we didn't even have our own forms. We just existed. I was one of the first to get a personality. I grew independantly, and he didn't care about the things that caused all of the others so much stress. It was... comforting, I suppose is the best I could say. He won't leave, because that would take some will, but he doesn't fight against me."

"That's a typical sloth for you..." He tried to laugh at it, but find himself couldn't as he heard the latest part. He remembered something then, something not good. He decided to bury it inside, and worry about it later. Plus, he could probably use it against Wrath when he do drops him a visit.
"Then, you mean all the others gain their personalities after you did? Just what are the seven sins anyway? What make them become so... human?"

"I don't know. When it happened, it was just something I accpeted, like you accept growing taller over time. Sure, it was unusual, but it wasn't like I awoke one day and said 'Hey look! I'm a Malachi!'" Malachi's antics were still well alive, they could tell. "It was a gradual change, like evolution. It started slow, with thougths. I became a consiousness, not just an existance. Then I gained a form. After the form, I gained the ability to react to things, not just to watch them. And with the reactions, came the questions... We traced it back to the time right before the infectees began to show up. More or less, right before the world began to end. The world was so full of hatred, so full of anger... My guess is that there was alot of prideful sin in the world, more than there was any of the other Vices. The human's 'evilness' lead to our evolution."

(Well, my last post for today. You should sleep too)
"Right before the infectees... then it was the time when the bombing starts... Humans becmae so sinful that the seven sins began to materialize..." He recited again and again in his mind, like something was missing. A contrast... "But then it doesn't fit the Seven Virtues..."

"Humans became virutous in some parts of the world, and sinful in others." Malachi said. "You said it yourself, this was a religious war. But it's also just a war."

"I understand. The minds of the people were stretched to two extremes, sins and virtues. But I sometimes wonder... does it matter?" He looked at Cristina. "Does it matter at all to have virtues or sins?"

"Well... Of course it does! My home wouldn't have been destroyed if people would have had a little more virtue! ...but then, your home would have been, still... Maybe people don't need the Virtues, but they still need virtues..." She put specific accents on "Virtues", so they could both tell the difference.

(I drank too much last night. Head hurts...)
"You... you're right. How could I even doubt that people needs virtue?" He asked Cristina in a sad tone. "Sometimes, I just couldn't tell the difference anymore. But I know one thing... I have to cling on to something in this life so that I would not completely shatter. I know you have the same experience, Cri- Tribe."
"After all... we..." He looked away into the sky.

(You darn alcoholic.)
"Why do humans feel this insessant need to be like the Virtues?" Malachi asked thoughtfully from the ground. "What is so great about them? They're really not all that wonderfully brillant."

(Remind me not to touch them... head hurts... Well, school can wait. Me goes back to sleep.)
"People need a little virtue in their life so that they could ling to their dreams. A dream of a perfect world... but sometimes people just confuses their own desires with the virtues... A false hope perhaps?" His eyes looked at the blue sky. Some clouds hung over it, and birds fly with their wings... "That's why we're human, I guess."

(Idiot. Alcohol is bad.)
Malachi laughed cruely and pulled himself up to his feet. "You believe what you want. Besides, you're they're plaything now. I'm sure you'll get to see enough of this world of ours..." Malachi looked at Christina. "I'm staying out of this the best I can. There's a reason I left. I'd advise you to do the same."
