"We could never remember anything before... well, when we woke up like this. The only thing we saw was rubble, and the only thing we knew was that, at one time, we wern't always like this," she closed her eyes, remembering. "We never even knew our names."

"That must suck." Ivy grinned a little. "Why are the memories coming back now?"

"Who knows?" she shrugged, slightly sad that she didn't know herself. "Avris?"
I don't know anything more than you... except...
"What is it, Avris?" Something was bothering him, she could tell.
That memory... the one you were talking about... I can't see it. Not even in your thoughts.
"What?" her eyes widened. "That's... just not possible. How... Try again." She recalled the memory, just as vividly as before. "Do you see anything?"
No, nothing...

"What is wrong?" Ivy could tell something wasn't right. What she would give to be a mind-reader. There was always so much she missed when she was with these two.

"He can't see my memory," Avignon said, her voice revealing her shock. How she had fought in the past just to keep things from him! And now, the one thing she wished more than anything in the world to share with him, she couldn't. "M-maybe it's fake..." she almost hoped. Anything was better than the hurt Avris was failing (though trying) to hide.

Ivy's face fell. "Maybe....maybe we could talk to that one vampire. He seems like a telapath." She was pretty sure Avris wouldn't like the idea but she was going to put it out there anyway.

"No!" Avris's solid form suddenly materialized on the bed. "We're not asking for their help... the memory's not fake... no matter what..."

Ivy was scared for an instant but then she realized that sh eshouldn't be scared, she was more powerful. "Well, Avris, why don't you stop being so d**n stubborn all the time? Everything has to be figured out by the all mighty Avris, the super-infectee."
She walked over to the wall again and leaned against it. "The whole world is not out the make you feel small. If you would just reach out and ask for help every once and a while maybe you wouldn't be in this mess. You are not all powerful, you are weak, because you are insecure."

Avris, DON'T!
Before Ivy could blink, Avris' dark wings blocked out the room's dim lighting. Pale fists slamed onto... no, THROUGH the walls on either side of her head. Sharp feathers stood on end, agitated, and close to her green skin. Ivy thought he was going to attack...
"SO. WHAT!" He roared, his face a mask of red rage. "SO WHAT IF I'M WEAK? I MAY NOT BE ALL POWERFUL, BUT, HELL! ATLEAST I TRY! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE SO FAR, HUH? GIVEN UP! YOU'RE READY TO GIVE UP! JUST TO FALL INTO THEIR HANDS! IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? TO STAY WITH THESE MONSTERS? TO BECOME ONE OF THEM?"
Avignon was attacking his mind, begging him to stop. Her force was enough to make his vision blur.
"If that's what you want..." he said, slightly breathless from the effort of keeping his own form. "Then you should have said something before we got involved in this d**n mess over you..."

"OVER ME!!! OVER ME!!! DO YOU THINK I WANTED TO COME HERE? yOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO STOP THEM....WHERE WERE YOU? SULKING IN YOU OWN SELF PITY." Ivy was ticked, she didn't care anymore, she was starting to relize tings that she had never noticed before.
Her eyes were blazing with anger, thorns began to protrude from her skin. "WHY ACCUSE ME OF WANTED TO BECOME A VAMP? IS THAT YOUR OWN DESIRE.... WHY EVEN BRING IT UP?"

"Because you're the ones who said we should trust those murdering bastards..." Avris hissed angerly through clenched teeth. "And you expect me to be the one there to save you? Why. couldn't. you. save. yourself?" Each word was spat out furiously, doused in malice, and sharp as his dark feathers.

"Why couldn't I save myself? If you didn't notcie that freak was in my mind. I was kinda incompasinated." Ivy's thorns were growing larger, she was breathing heavily. "I could do things that would be so horrible that it would not be pretty. I have become more powerful everyday, more powers emerging every day.

Avris' face suddenly went blank. It lost all emotions, and instead, just looked bored.
"Well, good luck with that kid. Hope all turns out well for you."
He shoved his hands in his pockets, and backed away, scanning the room. It wasn't Ivy's threat that had stopped him, but Avignon's words. That's when he had remembered...

"typical Avris, backing down when things get too hard." Ivy was a upset now, a part of her had been unleashed that was proving hard to contain.

"Lose the god complex, daisy." His use of Avignon's nickname was enough to make her flinch, but his voice held no emotion. He just kept scanning the walls.
