If one were to Decide to Walk over to the Lake sometimes around.... Three AM, They Probably wouldn't even notice the Other Boy, Silently watching the Moon From his Post atop the Oak Tree that grew next to the large Body of Water. He was, presently, Lieing on the Branch that hung above the Water, One leg dangling off the branch as the other sat bent, A thick Book Propped up as he Stared at it, His Eyes moving Rapidly as he read. Zander was never really one to Actually Read much, But There was a few Books he enjoyed.
In fact, he was Hardly reading at the moment; He was slowly nodding off to sleep, seeing as he hadn't Gotten much of it during the Day and everything at the moment was so... tranquil. Too Calm For words... To Calm For Zander's Likeing. It Kept him on His toes, Like someone was about to attack him. He really wasn't much use in that Senario...

"Your book is really boring..." Malachi commented from over the new boy's sholder. He had been sitting there for quite some time, as a shadow, but that had been about as boring as the boy's dull book. So he had decided to form behind the boy, give him a scare. He was good at that, and the boy seemed rather tence anyways.

"Your book is really boring..."
The voice roused Zander from his half-sleep, Rather unexpectedly. 'Wha?' He exclaimed, Turning around to see Someone standing behind him. Funny, He didn't know this person, And He'd been at the Academy for over a year... hm.
After his Shock at the Surprise had Receded, Zander Shrugged. 'I like it...' He debated rather idly. 'But I guess it is rather Tedious at some points... How long have you been Behind me?' He really wasn't angry or whatever that Someone was behind him all that time, Or for however long it was.

"I've been here since I got here, obviously," Malachi said vaguely. "I'd suggest something with more entertainment value. Maybe some Tennessee Williams? His work is always rather catching, though his sentences tend to run on a bit. But maybe Anne Rice would be more to your tastes? Hmmmm... yes, how about The Vampire Armand?" Malachi chuckeled to himself and wondered if the boy would catch the insult he had thrown in there. It would take someone with knolege of the works he was speaking of.

'Oh, You're hilarious.' Zander retorted, sarcasam dripping from his voice. This man was proving to be quite aggitating... 'So, Do you normally spy on reading people, and insult them? or is this a singular experience for you?' I doubt it, The Vampire thought. Without meaning to, his annoyance sent out a pulse of fear- or whatever. That tended to happen every once and a while; While the underlying force of his power was never ending, anger or aggravation sometimes strengthened the wave, Forcing a stronger feeling of Fear among the people around him. Zander practically Radiated with the Stuff. Whatever the stuff was.

((Did you actually catch the joke there? It's not because it's a vampire novel. The actual insult is much more... unfounded. And an insult Malachi has hurled before. XD No more hints for you.))
Malachi felt something strange suddenly, something that sent a shiver down his spine. Something that made him grin, showing his black teeth like deadly spines. Something that made him want to hurt people, and very badily.
Malachi didn't notice as his shadow flared on the ground, deformed into some kind of beast that hardly resembeled the form others saw.
I could hurt him. It's not like he'd DIE. He's a vampire. He'll just go kill someone, and then he'd be just fine. I could do it... But I'm supposed to be following the rules, so things will be easier. d**n the rules! I want to hurt this boy now!
Malachi was bairly restrained, and clueless as to what was intoxicating him.

((Well, I knida think i did... no, that was a lie. I've never read the book, But i know//think Anne Rice wrote interveiw with a vampire or something... Because my Friend's obsessed with that book, and Lestat. I guess I just need to do some research... : P ))
Zander noticed Something grow in Malachi; an anger of some sort. 'Oh, sorry.' He apolagized, understanding it at once. Everyone had their different ways of showing fear, i guess. 'My fault. Happens when I get annoyed.' but he didn't feel like going into any further detail. If the Shadow was as smart as he came off as, he could figure it out for himself.
'I see you've decided to stop hurling insults. Or are you simply thinking of more?' He gave a small smirk as he returned to his book. 'I'll give you some time.'

((Armand is possibly the gayest (literally) vampire Anne Rice wrote about. So Malachi just called Zander gay, more or less. Skip interview and read The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned. Those were my favorite, and they're all about Lestat, who deserves to be obsessed over. *From a Lestat obsesser XD))
"Mmm..." Malachi fell back a bit, his impulses slowly dying. "That's quite a talent you have there, though I'm not entierly sure what it is. My guess is that it effects emotions." He sat down on the dock's edge, and put a hand on his head. As he closed his eyes, his shadow returned to it's origional form. "Mind telling me exactly what the hell it was you just did?"

((yeah, I Took some time to Look it up on Wikepedia before I read your reply.... I need a life.))
'You were close when you guessed emotions,' Zander informed him. 'In the most Simple Form, I... Make fear. It's Completely uncontrollable, and neverending. So I'm doing the same thing to you right now that I was before, just on a lighter note, because i'm not as Aggravated. Can't help it; I'm sorry, again.' He didn't like it when he lost control. no, Not lost control because he didn't have any to loose, but he didn't like it when He put people in the situations he unwillingly did, even if they took pleasure in teasing the sh it out of him.

"Fear, huh? I don't understand fear." He leaned back, laying down on the boardwalk. He could recognize how the boy was affecting him now, but he didn't feel like leaving. The diluted sence of "fear" made him feel more awake. "Do other people usually get scared? What do they do, start screaming, or something?"

'Depends on how easily scared they are, and how long they're in my presence.' he explained. 'Normally people can't last more than four hours Without bursting into tears... One girl,' He began, 'In a movie theatre. it was one of those long movies, you know. well, I was sitting next to her, and... The Fear apparently drove her insane. She started crying and screaming, but it was a scarry movie, so no one paid any attention. and then she just started rolling on the ground, laughing her ass off... they had to take her to the Hospital, and th next day, I heard that some girl's parents were sueing the Director for 'mental disturbance...' But that's as bad as I've ever effected anyone.' Zander Noticed that Malachi Was hardly affected by the low-key pulse of Fear, and it pleased him, to know that someone out there could tolerate him for more than a few minutes.

Malachi liked the kid, he'd give him that much. He wasn't as bad as some of those rose-colored glasses that projected their hippy thoughts all over the campus. This guy seemed... entertaining. Malachi awarded him for not being annoying as hell with a little story from his own past.
"Something like that happened to me once, back a long time ago," he told the boy. "Whoever I was around kind of... went crazy too. I was watching this weird infectee, she had the power to heal whoever she wanted with just a glance. Well, I talked to her a bit, then she got mad and stomped off. Afterwards, she stoped healing people. She killed them instead. She would disembowel them, slowly. The people were able to see their own organs before they died! I mean, what a way to go!" The memory was a rather ammusing one for him.

At this, Zander Laughed, Imagining people's insides slowly falling out of their stumach... the looks of horror on their faces as they Tried to shove thier Intestines back in... He was a morbid Kid. I guess you could say that the control of Fear Had taken over his mind, But he's always been like that. 'That's insane.' he said, a thin smile on his face. 'Well, If I ever see someone Die of disassembling insides, I'll Think of you.' He added, Laughing internally at the very thought.

"You're a weird kid, kid. Most people would have screamed, or yelled at me, or something by this point," Malachi was slightly supprised that he'd been alowed that disembowement comment. Tribe would have been discusted, Jade would be reasured that she was right, and the others would begin to doubt him. Then again, it wasn't like he wasn't getting these same results in other ways. "What's your name? I don't think we've been properly introduced."

'Call me weird, But I thought it was funny. Oh, and I'm Zander.' he replied with a soft, hallow laugh, Thinking back on the conversation. 'And How about yourself?' he added.
